Metal tumbling as an added-value finish

Tumbling is one of the value-added finishes available for components we machine in-house. Using latest-generation equipment and proven know-how, we deliver uniform, repeatable results within agreed lead times.
The service is ideal wherever homogeneity, dimensional precision and wear resistance matter e.g., automotive parts. Tumbling is carried out by specialist partner plants and applied only to parts produced in our workshop to maintain a single, controlled quality flow.

CNC machining and tumbling for mechanical components

Tumbling enhances both appearance and performance. Using vibratory bowls or rotary barrels, parts undergo a controlled abrasive action that removes burrs, sharp edges and residual impurities, while improving surface roughness.
Applications span automotive, hydraulics and precision small metal parts, where finish quality directly affects function and life.

With calibrated media (ceramic/plastic/steel) and suitable compounds/lubricants, we achieve uniform surfaces without altering part geometry. The process is tailored to each application, selecting media shape/size, compound and cycle time for the required finish (deburring, smoothing or pre-polish before electroplating/galvanising).

Process value and quality control

Each job starts from the customer’s drawing and finish target: we define media type, treatment time and compound to meet the desired roughness and edge condition.
We operate vibratory and rotary systems to secure a controlled, even finish on every component. According to material and use case, we pick the most suitable media to remove burrs/imperfections without changing dimensions.

Every stage is monitored with advanced measuring tools checking Ra/Rz, critical dimensions and edge condition. This constant control optimises cycle time, reduces scrap and yields parts ready for assembly or further surface treatment.
