Chrome plating
Chrome plating
Chrome plating for turned small metal parts
We provide chrome plating for precision small parts we machine in-house. Combining latest-generation equipment with 30+ years of know-how and long-standing partnerships with specialist electroplating plants, we ensure uniform thickness, excellent adhesion and defect-free finishes.
Note: chrome plating is performed only on components produced in our workshop, to guarantee full control of quality and timing.
Benefits of electrolytic chrome
Electrolytic chrome is a surface treatment suitable for several metals – especially steel and brass – and is widely used in fittings, automotive and hardware.
It delivers a bright, high-quality appearance and increases hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Depending on the application, we can provide:
- Decorative chrome (Nickel–Chrome) – aesthetic brightness with barrier protection (Ni underlayer + Cr topcoat).
- Hard chrome – thick chromium deposits for high-wear mechanical applications, improving surface hardness and lifespan.
Before electrolysis, parts are degreased and cleaned to remove any contaminants. They then undergo nickel and chrome baths, after which the chromium layer is fixed and finished. Every phase follows recognised standards to achieve a clean, uniform finish: free of halos, stains or defects.
Our chrome plating process for precision parts
Each job starts with a technical review of your specifications: component type, service conditions and required resistance guide the selection of the most suitable decorative or hard-chrome route.
Key process controls include coating thickness, distribution/uniformity, adhesion and mechanical resistance. Finished parts undergo hardness, adhesion and wear tests; where required, corrosion testing (e.g., salt-spray) can be provided.
The result is durable, aesthetically impeccable components, ready for demanding industrial use.
