Turning refers to a mechanical manufacturing using lathes to remove shavings. It combines the rotation of the workpiece, the rectilinear motion of the tools and the removal of the material in excess with a kerf.
CNC lathes replace the axes hand movements using automatic rotation set up by the programming function. Materials processed in our company, Emme-Ti, enclose steels, aluminium and brass.
In a precision mechanical turnery, CNC lathes belong to the top of the range solutions.
Lathes and other CNC machines work on the basis of a computer-controlled programme: working and producing small turned parts with high precision and high output is allowed by this technology. As a matter of fact, numerical control focuses on the precise position of the axes. In complex cases, the software CAD CAM is used as connection point between the worker and the machine, so that actions to perform on the pieces are under control.
In Emme-ti many different third-parties projects can be carried out, such as:
- Chrome plating
- Burnishing
- Grinding
- Galvanic treatments
- Assembly
CNC mechanical turning: advantages are for real!
CNC machines are an advantage both for the company and the client, because they can:
- reduce the processing time of precision mechanical manufacturing (machines are able to encode the project data through a programme assuring the highest quality of the final product)
- be ideal for high precision projects that require a long processing time
- avoid downtime in the line of work, encouraging the utmost punctuality of the delivery
- pledge a waste reduction
- decrease the error margin.
Moreover, the quantity of the mass-produced pieces can be increased.
